The Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. (PSA) held its annual national quiz bee entitled “Tagisan Ng Talino” strictly for residents of accredited residency training programs in good standing. The elimination round was participated in by 38 hospitals from the National Capital Region. FUMC placed 8th at the elimination round held at Crown Plaza, Ortigas Center on August 17, 2019. This qualified them to compete in the final round.
Last October 26, 2019, the “26th PSA Tagisan Ng Talino Final Round” was held at the Radisson by Park Inn, SM North EDSA. FUMC Residents – Dr. Jan Brae De Leon, Dr. Jepree Villaluz, Dr. Monica Caloagan, Dr. Kristine Joy Esguerra, Dr. Lusieto Oporto, and Dr. Rex Stephen De Ungria with their adviser, Dr. Ma. Christine Sta. Maria and Dr. Jose Arnel Manalili, and with the full support of the Department Chair, Dr. Ma. Janetth B. Serrano, competed with other hospitals including UP-PGH, FEU, MCU, QCGH, QMMC, NKTI, EAMC, and CSMC, and other institutions from the Visayas and Mindanao and won Third Place. First Place went to Bataan Medical Center and Second Place to Batangas Medical Center. FUMC was the only private hospital and the only hospital from NCR to place in the finals.
