FUMC COMMENCES MONTHLY MASS BLOOD DONATION PROGRAM | Fatima University Medical Center

Fatima University Medical Center – Valenzuela, one of the country’s premier healthcare providers in the country starts its monthly mass blood donation program last March 10 – 11, 2022 at the Department of Laboratory’s Blood Bank section.
With the theme ‘A Drop of Blood, A Lifetime for Someone Else,’ the project aims to have sufficient supply of safe and quality blood units in the hospital.“Giving blood isn’t just good for the recipient. Making regular blood donations can also benefit its donor,” says Ms. Glory Biazon, RMT, Chief Medical Technologist of FUMC Valenzuela. “Donating blood reduces the risks of high blood and liverdiseases. It also lowers the risk of developing cancer and allows donors to develop new blood cells. And for our patients, we can provide them safe and quality blood units that will supplement their needs,” she added.

FUMC employees together with their families and friends, Our Lady of Fatima University OLFU) students, as well as walk-in donors, have trooped their way to FUMC Valenzuela to supportthis meaningful cause. All donors went through the rigorous blood donation screening process to ensure their safety.Screening of blood donors also helps to ensure that the donated blood is safe for transfusion into a recipient. Last February, FUMC Antipolo conducted a similar successful activity, supported by the employees, their families, and the hospital’s loyal customers.
