For the second straight year, Fatima University Medical Center also known as FUMC, will participate in the annual Malnutrition Awareness Week by the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) as its Ambassador Organization from October 4 to 8, 2021. This year’s theme “Nutrition is a Human Right” highlights the efforts of many organizations to push for a human rights-based approach to clinical nutrition and to develop a moral, political, and legal focus for nutrition care.
Members of the FUMC community will have free access to the daily webinars prepared to provide clinicians and administrators with evidence-based strategies to detect, diagnose and treat, as well as prevent malnutrition through program implementation and current resource utilization. Medical and surgical residents of FUMC will also have a workshop on the Nutrition Care Process as they are the “frontliners” of the institution in dealing with common but often undetected problem of malnutrition which has a great impact on the outcome of hospitalized patients.
This is a testament to FUMC’s commitment to innovate, heal, and care for its patients by providing appropriate and adequate nutrition to the at risk and malnourished groups.
